Sr. Research Analytical Chemist- Decatur, ILADM ResearchThis is a full time, exempt position Archer Daniels Midland Co., a world leader in agricultural processing, has an immediate opening for a Senior Analytical Chemist at our Corporate Research center located in Decatur, Illinois. ADM Analytical Research is seeking a highly motivated scientist with a strong background in analytical chemistry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for method development and validation, sample analysis, data reporting, personnel management and instrument purchase recommendations.
Job responsibilities include providing value to ADM business units through efficient execution of analytical processes, developing expertise and extending the group?s knowledge base in state-of-the-art analytical techniques and managing multiple projects and communicating recommendations and results to company personnel.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to work independently and perform all aspects of quantitative and qualitative analyses. The position will involve development and application of sophisticated instrumental methods which may utilize HPLC, GC, ICP, ICP-MS, GC/MS, LC/MS and/or vibrational spectroscopy.The ideal candidate will possess a Ph. D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field, with at least 5 years relevant experience in an industrial laboratory.
Extensive experience with several areas of analytical biochemistry instrumental analysis such as GC-MS, LC-MS-MS, vibrational spectroscopy, HPLC, GC, elemental analysis and advanced data analysis is required. Previous experience in the analysis of foods, biofuels, natural products, synthetic organic chemicals, industrial fermentations and experience developing multivariate analysis models will be given added consideration.
Successful candidates must have the ability to work on multiple projects with a variety of research teams in a highly multi-tasked environment.
Candidate must interact well with people, have excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel, have good time management skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams to coordinate analyses and provide desired results.Relocation assistance is available with this position.
