Sr. Supervisor Transportation
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for leading and guiding the planning and execution of product distribution for multiple business groups, with transportation costs totaling over $350,000,000 annually; creating optimal solutions that ensure customer service requirements are met while simultaneously achieving lowest cost solution in combining LTL orders into multi-stop truckload shipments; Interacting closely with internal Sales Managers, customer support (CSR's), distribution Center and shipping facility managers and Transportation Manager to ensure Tyson's service standards are achieved; Working with shipping facilities to balance capacity by leveling load volumes; Frequently communicate with customers to resolve delivery issues, and set foundations to ensure on-time deliveries; Guiding the performance and development of management and management support Team Members in the process of load planning, scheduling of delivery appointments, and customer service, as well as professional growth.This position will serve as a Super User for SAP-TM for the transportation planning team, and will be responsible for training team members in the use of SAP-TM to perform their daily work functions, as well as provide first-line support to troubleshoot and resolve process issues for users. This position also owns the maintenance and management of Ship to master data for SAP.This position requires a broad understanding of business requirements to ensure distribution plans meet the company's business objectives. Additional responsibilities include identifying and communicating waste reduction opportunities to the organization, completing special projects and data analyses, and performing other duties as the need arises.REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics or a related business field, or an equivalent of related work experience.Experience: 3+ years in logistics, distribution or transportation related field.Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills required. Knowledge of Tyson Business Computer Systems. Ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft applications to produce standard spreadsheets, analyze and interpret data, and develop presentations. Broad knowledge of SAP-TM.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to facilitate group meetings and make presentations.SPECIAL SKILLS (if applicable): Key competencies include analytical and problem-solving skills, strong computer and system skills including data manipulation, ability to handle a very high degree of detail, ability to deal with people who are uncertain about what decision need to be made; plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks, and leading and participating in a cross-functional environment.
