Strategic Account Manager An expanding and aggressive organization in the crop nutrients sector is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to maintain and expand relationships with the organizations top distribution and retail customers in North America, as well as play a key role in developing strategic partnerships for the organization. This company has created a unique product line that requires a passion for sustainable and innovative input solutions, as well as the ability to work with leadership teams to set high-level strategy, down to helping sales teams position the products. This is a critical role for the organization and will be responsible for achieving sales targets and revenue goals for this sector. As the Key Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to: ? Lead the customer/prospect account planning cycle ? Manage account forecasting, lead companys strategic objectives and planning process for accounts to include revenue targets and performance objectives ? Build consultative, productive, and professional relationships with customer base as a trusted advisor ? Proactively assesses and validate existing and prospective customer needs on an on-going basis with a solutions-based approach to issues management
including crop data, sales support, ROI expectations, supply and logistics requirements ? Works with Technical Sales and Agronomy to position company as leader in sustainable crop nutrition reducing barriers to product adoption. ? Works proactively with Supply Chain team to develop footprint necessary to support growth of strategic accounts, understanding available to sell product and sales/supply cycle ? Monitors commodity market supply and demand balance/pricing, and communicates accordingly ? Coordinates company personnel, including technical sales, agronomy, marketing, supply chain, and management, to ensure account performance objectives and customer expectations are met
Candidates for this role can expect up to 50% travel, with additional time in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St Paul) office, so living near Minneapolis/St Paul would be ideal for this role. Additionally, candidates should have a 4-year degree, and at least 7 years of experience in a strategic business-to-business and consultative sales environment. Due to the competitive nature of the crop inputs industry, this role requires strong analytical skills, including market strategy, customer success factors, and a value-based selling process. While not required, candidates with experience marketing value-added crop inputs and crop nutrients would be preferred. Positions to join this industry leader dont come around very often.
