The Nutrition division of Archer Daniels Midland is searching for a Sr Strategic Account Manager for our Midwest and Westcoast Regions.
Nutrition offers a range of innovative ingredients for the beverage, food, supplement, and personal care markets. As a global market leader in food proteins, ADM?s Nutrition group also manufactures numerous health and nutrition products, lecithin, hydrocolloids and polyols.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:Managing and developing relationships across key customer influencers and decision makersMust be able to define and deliver the annual sales plan for assigned markets.Find, vet and evaluate new business opportunities to develop market share and increase margin.Gathering and using relevant market information to the input and design of the business strategy at customer, market, pricing and product level.Interfacing with a portfolio of customers; negotiate sales contracts.Managing sales contract execution from commercial agreement to delivery on time. Managing sales volumes, pricing, credit issues, and contract status via interaction with the business support teams.Employing customer related systems ranging from planning tools to CRM systems.Coordinating special customer requirements through Organization.Establishing plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the assigned market area and contributes to maintaining current customer relationshipsJob Requirements: An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in a Technical discipline, MBA or related advanced degree desirable A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food ingredient or supplement industry.Proven experience building new and existing relationships with key customers, including those in key strategic decision-making positions at headquarter level.Superior strategic and tactical business planning skills.Experience in the specific geography with our target accounts.Demonstrated skill using a CRM as well as high proficiency in Strategic Account Planning.Team skills–ability to share ideas, work with and assist other members to ensure the success of the team.Strong organization, time management, communication, and negotiation skills..Job Responsibilities: Must have experience in preparing action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospectsInitiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets according to the strategic roadmapAssists in the development and implementation of marketing and trade show plans relative to their assigned market segmentProvides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit marginMaintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, activity reports and contract balancesCreates and conducts proposal presentationsAbility to call on R&D/technical groups to sell value-added ingredients with ability to sell solutions based on stated needs of a technical audienceCalculates and assembles quotes to customers and negotiate as necessary to secure contracts.Provide detailed reporting to the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing through the use of SalesForce and other communication toolsControls expenses to meet budget guidelines Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codesMaintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Relocation assistance is available with this position.
