Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us Feed the Future, and grow your career.This position will have 6 direct reports and will report to the Sulfuric Acid General Supervisor.What you will do: The Sulfuric Acid Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe operation of the sulfuric acid plants, water treatment facilities, Turbo generator, and DPW wells at Nutrien in Aurora The Sulfuric Acid Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates and executes daily activities based on standard operating procedures, safety practices, maintenance schedules and shift instructionsThe supervisor will monitor the progress of daily activities, deal with any identified obstacles that limit the productivity of the crew, conduct site visits to ensure that all assigned work is performed in a safe manner and provide direct supervision of the Sulfuric Acid operating crew during the shiftThe supervisor will track and encourage the skill development and training progress of the crew, and will work directly with the employees and ensure that the company’s safety, environmental, and business objectives are metEnsures safe and efficient operation of sulfuric acid equipment Tracks employee progression and development, and supports employees with training and coaching Coordinates employee cross training to ensure operators are able to operate all equipment in the sulfuric department Conducts crew meetings, and ensures utilization of job hazard analysis and structured pause-Ensures safe and efficient operation of sulfuric acid equipment Conducts in field contacts and audits to ensure proper use of safety equipment and procedures Assists safety team with project submittal and housekeeping audits Follows up on safety and environmental concernsCommunicates company goals, policies, and proceduresEnsures environmental parameters are being properly monitored Optimize sulfuric production, power production, and minimize downtimeConstantly look for ways to improve the sulfuric acid operationCoordinate acid, steam, and power production with consuming departmentsEnsures work orders are prepared and submitted properlyRepresent Nutrien through community participation and in local activities Annual goals are set from which performance will be determined in field contacts and audits to ensure proper use of safety equipment and procedures What you will bring:This position requires a High School diploma or equivalentIncumbent must meet all of the requirements on the supervisory promotion checklistMust have at least 5 years experience at this siteMust have a minimum of competent rating on last performance appraisal and better-than-average attendance record. Must have a thorough knowledge of the operation of the Sulfuric Acid Plants, Water Treatment Plants, Turbogenerator, Steam System, DPW System, 007 Outfall, Ambient Air Monitor, Elementary Neutralization Facility, and Honeywell SystemsMust be able to supervise personnel efficiently and in a manner to produce top quality products within Nutrien and EPA regulationsMust be able to communicate verbally and in writing to all levelsMust be able to analyze problems, develop solutions, and to plan work effectivelyPreferred Bachelor's Degree in related field with 6 plus years of relevant experience Are you a good match?
