SUMMARY: This position is responsible for hiring, training, monitoring, and administering the job duties for FSQA hourly personnel. This includes monitoring and maintaining FSQA programs to verify that product specifications are met, communicating with all levels of management, USDA, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This position also requires outlining product deficiencies and suggested corrections, tracking corrective actions to the customer, government, and FSQA inspections until discrepancies are resolved; directing and scheduling laboratory and in-Plant FSQA testing as required on a shift basis. Other duties include assisting in the development of analytical skills used toevaluate problems and provide sound technical advice to resolve situations, working on special projects as assigned by the FSQA Manager (i.e. writing procedures, capability studies, records organization, computer application, and implementation); and performing other responsibilities as assigned by FSQA Management. Familiar with FSIS and/or FDA labeling policies and processing requirements. Preferred HACCP / SQF certification. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Degree from a four year college or university Experience: One plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills,creating simple letters, queries, spreadsheets, etc. Travel: 1 – 3 trips per year ,, Supervisory Responsibility: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
