ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:This position directs the daily duties of production employees while delivering products on schedule in a cost effective manner. Administers company polices and management practices to the employees. SCOPE OF POSITION: Create a culture of Safety and teamwork throughout the facility. Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA standards, Environmental Control Act and OSHA standards. Lead health, safety, Food Safety, SQF, and environmental processes for assigned areas. Responsible for compliance with Tyson Foods policies and procedures, Global Business Standards, plant rules and all regulatory agencies. Support the operation in ways to improve efficiencies and to help reduce overall costs. Lead and develop a high performing work organization utilizing Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement concepts that maximize employee teamwork, contributions, suggestions and decisions; utilize continuous improvement tools to drive process improvements including cost savings goals.Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals. Supervise team members to help achieve key performance objectives.Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.Investigates and reports on accidents and near misses and assures that site procedures are followed regarding safety and ergonomic issues.Confers with management and sanitation department on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.Conducts regular department meetings to discuss safety, production, quality issues as well as to conduct training of department.Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.Manages and controls department expenditures within agreed budgets.Maintain effective employee relations by seeking out employee input into solutions.Utilize SAP to assure proper product costing and be able to mentor direct reports and peers in the use of SAP.Assist in any other activities or tasks as deemed necessary for the continued operation of the business as designated by operations managementTo view a full job description and submit your resume for consideration, click APPLY TO THIS POSITION below and follow the prompts.Apply for this job.
