SUMMARY: This position works with all departments to develop and enhance a culture of consistent safe behavior. This position serves as a subject expert to ensure compliance with safety standards. In addition, this person must observe, track and complete activities with employees to reduce and eliminate work related injuries and accidents to support our safety goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal (OSHA) rules and regulations. Be an active part of the team to plan and implement organizational safety programs and initiatives. Ensure and communicate safety related training. Assist with and train supervisors on proper accident investigations for all work-related injuries and provide reports to location management. Performs job safety analysis and assist in developing safe work policies and procedures. Conduct new hire safety training. Monitors safety work orders. Develop/maintain a comprehensive filing system for documents pertaining to training and compliance with OSHA. Perform other tasks as deemed appropriate by management. A high level of initiative is expected, alongwith the ability to effectively interact and communicate with persons at both the facility and corporate level, and the general public. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
