SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring the various aspects of shipping and receiving at the facility. This position must have knowledge of the following: warehousing, shipping and receiving product; performing product and ingredient recalls; balancing inventories (daily and weekly) and addressing any variances found that day; maintaining production scheduling procedures; reviewing all hold product and disposition accordingly; allocating shipments; setting up trucks in the PPS system; printing sales orders; communicating with carriers; completing work orders and monitoring their progress. Other duties include holding safety meetings, providing forklift training, overseeing the new hire training program for logistics, ensuring the proper administration of personnel policies and regulations, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses is preferred. Experience: 3+ years experience. Computer Skills: Must be able to develop Excel/Access spread sheets, enter data into document templates, and create simple queries. Will be required to learnTyson SAP system. Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
