The Technical Field Director oversees all aspects of field technical support in the areas of field trials, sales demonstration trials, complaint review and assessment, product development opportunities and support of sales based grower service activities. This role acts as a senior technical authority on product performance, protocols and process for field trials, data trends and product concern resolution. This person oversees a team of agricultural professionals and identifies their support responsibilities across multiple territories. The technical field support team is a shared resource so this role must interface with managers in sales, product development, marketing and operations to support efforts across each of these groups. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Team ManagementDrives a technical support plan to deliver value that supports the adoption and user success of Suterra productsLeads continuous improvement of field processesManages a team of direct reports that are geographically disparateLeads the day to day personnel management as well as mentoring and coaching of team membersManages trial planning, including protocols, processes and deliverablesManages a budget for designated territories Sales & Marketing Team SupportBuilds strategy to create an accessible and responsive technical team ready to support sales team members, growers and channel partnersLeads direction of defining and delegating supporting activities of the technical team to support sales activity in each territoryWorks with sales management to provide territory-focused technical support and problem solving to growers and partners Technical Agronomy & Product DevelopmentBuilds a channel for customer feedback and catalogs the information to support internal efforts in product design, engineering and operationsEvaluates new pest and market opportunitiesBuilds appropriate business cases for new product opportunitiesBrainstorms with internal and external stakeholders on modification/improvement to existing productsLeads in-field demonstrations and product testing with customers to glean user informationBuilds training initiatives for deployment and in-season effectivenessProposes new product opportunities/investments to the leadership teamLeads projects and initiatives aimed at bringing new products or platforms to market KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: RequiredExperience in agricultureProject management experienceBudget management experienceTeam/people leadership experienceTime management skills that ensure timelines and results are deliveredAmple experience using the Microsoft Office suiteComfortable working with a high degree of autonomySeeks out and finds solutions to drive continuous improvementComfortable working in remote locations alone or without cell serviceComfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather PreferredTrial management of an agricultural productTrial design and protocol development experienceKnowledge of entomology, biology, chemistry or related fieldKnowledge or agriculture regulatory environmentsKnowledge of field trial protocol developmentBachelor's degree in agricultural science, entomology or similar fieldApply for this job.
