Technology Sales Specialist – GROWMARK FS – Western NY
GROWMARK FS, headquartered in Milford, Del., provides wholesale and retail agronomy products and services to farm customers in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. GROWMARK FS is part of the GROWMARK System, a regional agriculture cooperative serving more than 250,000 customers across North America. PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENTConducts direct sales of Precision Agriculture systems and equipment, and provides sales support to region salespersons. The primary product is the Precision Planting business and secondary lines include all other AiM Precision Ag equipment lines. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSCompiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from GFS sales history, government offices, and other sources. Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective growers Develops and maintains relationships with customers Communicates sound agronomic practices to customers and other key personnel Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Trains and provides on-farm sales support to the region salespersons on Precision Ag related products and systems. Performs systems/equipment installations and provides technical support for assigned product lines. Performs pre-planting equipment set-up and maintenance checks of customer equipment Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts current and accurate. Maintains territory analysis files on each customer and prospect Participates in grower meetings on product and technical information Maintains records on all competition in sales territory. Provides customer service via post planting follow-up and field checks, conducts data analysis and up-sells to the next needed systems as appropriate. Follows up on customer complaints and seeks a reasonable resolution. Represents GFS at meetings and farm shows Displays FS field signs on customer and competitor fields to promote GFS products Manages inventory of product line parts and assists location in inventory control practices. Works with Agrinetix field and technical staff to increase product line sales and provide customer support. Promotes the use of GFS Credit programs as a selling tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit. Works with credit department in collection of accounts receivables OTHER JOB FUNCTIONSFollows GROWMARK s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply Performs other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTSNormally requires a Bachelor s Degree in agriculture, or marketing related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of precision technology, crop production management, and precision farming programs. Demonstrated essential abilities including applied technical skills in agricultural electronic equipment, knowledge of agricultural field equipment and mechanical aptitude, business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work independently, in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others. Proven ability to utilize computer as a communications, business management and information update tool. Must have and maintain a valid driver s license, satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.
