Territory Sales Representative “District Sales Manager” Dekalb & Asgrow Seed North West Illinois Bayer Crop Science is currently seeking a territory sales professional to join the US Commercial Organization as a District Sales Manager for DEKALB & Asgrow seed located in Northwest Illinois. This territory will cover the following counties: Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, Boone and Ogle. You'll be successful as a District Sales Manager by working closely with your assigned retail locations that sell Dekalb & Asgrow seed to achieve long-term growth for your accounts and for our seed brands within your district. You will build new relationships in your territory and help to strategically develop your market. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage district requirements and support product stewardship. To excel in this position, you will be expected to complete a district market plan aligned with company objectives, then execute that plan. You will have the opportunity to develop and leverage account management skills in retail development, business planning, program management, market funding, budget management and sales results. Specific Role Responsibilities: Provide agronomic support and sales skills advice to sales representatives at our retail partner locations; Including Training and informing dealers and retail partners on new and existing products, placement and marketing programs. Manage direct selling activities to assigned accounts by developing and maintaining strong relationshipsMaintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of company branded products and servicesDevelop a deep understanding of the goals and go-to-market strategy of your assigned retail partners, including leveraging a three-year strategy to drive business successUse product knowledge and questioning ability to help dealers analyze and understand what training/education is needed to enhance sales of DEKALB & Asgrow at their locationLeverage business acumen to prioritize and allocate resources (marketing programs, funding, etc.) to help retailers accomplish their goals and optimize return on investment.Adjust communication style as needed to most effectively connect at a grower level all the way to senior leaders in an organization. Influence and collaborate with retail dealerships leveraging the ability to position and sell the Dekalb & Asgrow brands in conjunction with a retail house brandSpeak to company practices as it relates to current/future products, pricing and other corporate initiatives with dealers, growers and members of the communityManage multiple strategic partners who directly compete in the market Effectively collaborate with a team of other District Sales Managers, TechnicalAgronomists and Technology Development Representatives to maximize services, information, and sales to preferred growers who want extensive technical/agronomic expertiseBayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection. Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Communications or related field of study. We will consider other education levels with related agriculture sales experience Minimum of 3 years of professional sales/account management experience or 1+ years of experience working in the agriculture industry Experience effectively demonstrating self motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds (a bag of seed) Ability to pass driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.) Federal regulations from the Department of Transportation cover this position and mandate the passing of certain pre-employment requirements, such as a background check, drug test and physicalApply for this job.
