Treasury Business Services Manager
Position ObjectiveBunge Treasury is looking for a candidate with 5-7 years working experience in the field of finance to fill the position of Treasury Manager – Business Services (“Treasury Manager”). The Treasury Manager is an integral member of the Treasury team with prime responsibilities covering areas of subsidiary capital structure and Foreign Exchange risk management. The Treasury Manager will participate in projects that require a thorough understanding of corporate finance concepts such as Weighted Average Cost of Capital, Sovereign risk, Financial Statement Analysis, and the factors which drive subsidiary capital structure decisions including tax, interest rates and foreign exchange. The Treasury Manager will require a particular focus on currency exchange rates and a holistic understanding of the multi-faceted effects of exchange rate movements on Bunge’s businesses.Major Opportunities and DecisionsThe Treasury Manager will participate in projects that require knowledge, of financial markets with particular focus on currency exchange rates and country risk premiums. The incumbent is relied on for critical quantitative analysis that is used by Director – Treasury Business Services and Bunge senior management to make high-impact decisions.This position will also sit in what is a fairly small but critical function. Therefore, functioning well within a (small) team environment to achieve (common) group objectives is essential. The function will at times operate within tight deadlines – consequently, efficient time management, eye for detail and being a self-starter will be critical ingredients for success.Affiliate Finance:Develop and implement proposals to optimize the capital structure of Bunge subsidiaries;Work with the tax department to set annual inter-company interest rates between the Bunge funding centers and individual operating companies;Work with FP&A department on the annual risk-adjusted Cost of Capital (WACC); WACC is of crucial importance to Bunge’s business planning and performance measurement processes, and as such, the calculations and methodology need to be highly robust, transparent and market-based in order to avoid contentious debate with the stakeholders;Advice and consult with operating companies to improve management of working capital – this includes use of structured financing solutions.Risk Management (Foreign Exchange):Identify foreign exchange risk arising in existing operations and/or expansion initiatives and develop hedging strategiesCoordinate the aggregation and management of FX exposure among various treasury regional centers and ensure the FX exposures are adequately managed and hedged as prescribed by the Bunge policiesWork with Director – Treasury Business Services to manage global FX risk and hedging strategies. This will involve measurement and monitoring of Bunge global investment and monetary FX exposuresReview the disclosure around risk management in Bunge’s 10Q/10K reports to ensure that risk management strategies and their results are appropriately reflectedCorporate Finance, Advisory and Others:As required contribute to specific corporate finance projects such as rating agency analysis, investor and bank presentations, etc.Assist in putting together management presentations (e.g. FRPC, Risk Committee MeetingSupport the colleagues in Treasury Capital Markets as and when requiredPrincipal AccountabilitiesDevelop and implement proposals to optimize the capital structure of Bunge’s subsidiaries. Perform an annual capital structure review of Bunge’s subsidiaries. Achieve optimal capital structures of subsidiaries to minimize cost of capital for business units (for sovereign risk, tax, legal aspects to be optimized) 30%Transfer-price management for inter-company funding. Support analysis with tax team to minimize funding frictional cost while minimizing tax risk 15%Measure, monitor and manage FX investment and monetary exposure. Consult with regions of FX exposure management and ensure compliance to corporate FX policy Manage global FX risk and hedging strategies 30%Annual risk-adjusted Cost of Capital (WACC) for Bunge’s business units across the world.
