In addition, Zoetis will never ask candidates to make any type of personal financial investment related to gaining employment with Zoetis.Role Description:Reporting to the Corporate Treasurer, the Treasury Manager is responsible for systems, accounting and controls related to a broad set of activities managed by the US Treasury group. The activities performed by the US Treasury group include cash management for the US, Canada and Latin-America, liquidity management, debt capital markets, financial risk management and international treasury. The position will also support and work closely with the Manager for Treasury Accounting and Systems at the company”s Global Treasury Center in Belgium and serve as a back-up for certain treasury operations activities in the Americas region. Responsibilities:Systems * Ensure that the company”s Treasury Management System (TMS) and other treasury systems are configured correctly, and that the functionality is optimized to facilitate straight through processing and accurate accounting. * Work closely with the Manager for Treasury Accounting and Systems” in the Global Treasury Center to ensure a consistent approach to the configuration of the TMS across the company. * Liaise with the TMS vendor as needed to optimize the use of the system. * Ensure all US initiated transactions, including short and long-term debt, investments and interest derivatives are accurately configured and reflected in the TMS. * Participate in the selection and implementation of treasury related systems. * Design and develop reports in the TMS.
Accounting * Responsible for accounting and accuracy of financial reporting for all US treasury activities and for ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results on a monthly basis. * Work closely with the Controllers function and the Manager, Accounting and Systems in the Global Treasury Center to provide expertise and guidance on Treasury accounting matters adhering to current standards, guidance and best practice. * Respond to changes in accounting standards and guidelines as relates to US Treasury transactions and activities.
Controls * Manage the overall control environment for US managed treasury activities. * Improve and update Treasury policies and standard operating procedures for the US treasury functions. * Enhance existing treasury reports to ensure compliance. * Develop and maintain KPIs and other metrics to manage risks and activities. * Manage SOX compliance initiatives. * Engage with internal and external audit teams and manage responses to audit related requests. * Development and maintenance of Business Continuity plans.
Global Treasury Center Accounting and Reporting * Work closely with the “Manager, Treasury Accounting and Systems” in the Global Treasury Center and serve as a back-up, when needed, for activities related to the Treasury Center”s:
* Closing of the books * Submission of monthly and quarterly reports to headquarters
Other * Serve as a back-up for certain US cash management activities. * Manage treasury projects as required. * Continually search for opportunities to improve processes related to the US Treasury activities.
Qualifications:Education * Minimum of a bachelor”s degree in Finance or Accounting. Experience * A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in banking or corporate treasury environment, or auditing experience in a financial service environment. * Excellent computer literacy, a deep knowledge of ERP or other financial systems and a strong interest in treasury technology. * Previous experience with treasury management systems is desired. * Strong understanding of US GAAP and treasury related accounting standards, including experience with hedge accounting. Skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong communicator with the ability to summarize and explain important points across a large set of data. * A proven team player able to quickly integrate into an established team and work effectively across a broad set of stakeholders in multiple geographies. * Be flexible and enthusiastic, with a “can-do” attitude to work. * Strong sense of integrity and an ability to develop and hold an independent view vis-a-vis other stakeholders. * Must be a self- motivated individual with an ability to work successfully on own initiative. * Proven track record of supporting and driving process changes through the use of automation and technology. * Excellent project management skills with a track record of meeting deliverables and deadlines.
