Learn more at www.adm.comTreatment Plant Lead OperatorADM Carbohydrate Solutions Decatur Utilities Wastewater Plant ?Decatur, Il The Treatment Plant Lead Operator will be responsible for the oversight of treatment plant operations and lab analysis, with additional responsibility for collection and outside testing of wastewater, water and methane as required by our various permits and operating agreements. Essential Job Functions:
Review daily reports.Consult with operators about proper operation of the plant.Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve process problems.Evaluate plant operation and consult with Superintendent.Review upcoming jobs for needed permits and procedures, verify needed documents and safety equipment are available.Write, review and manage wastewater plant procedures, including LOTO, SOPS, CSPS & MOC.Monitor chemical inventories and communicate with the appropriate persons to make sure shipments are scheduled in advance as needed to fill the needs of the department. Communicate scheduling to operators.Make sure proper SDS are on hand for all chemicals used at WWTP.Monitor, verify and adjust for proper chemical usage rates throughout the wastewater plant and cooling towers.Weekly water and sludge sampling for Gas Purification plant.Package and ship samples for Gas Purification plant.Weekly methane sample for percent methane.Lo-Cat chemistry samples.Quarterly gas samples for Gas Purification Plant.Semi-annual self-monitoring sanitary sewer samples.Quarterly dewatered sludge samples for land application permit.Gas system oil sampling.Assemble and send out storm water samples after rain events.Communicate with multiple outside labs to arrange for testing and reporting of the above samples.Work with technical representative from ADI to obtain sludge level readings and samples for analysis, perform analysis and report.Order laboratory supplies, repair lab equipment, schedule repairs and calibrations when outside services are required, manage COD vial disposal and sign off.Inspect sanitary lift stations, samplers and equipment. Verify proper operation, perform periodic repairs, and perform calibrations as needed.Arrange for proper disposal of empty tote bins: inventory and store, clean out, de-label, schedule pick-up as needed.Retention ponds ? quarterly inspection of storm water samplers, quarterly verification of proper dam gate operation and alarms.Train new operators & train operators on new procedures.Confirm/ perform site specific training for contractors, as needed.Repair and maintenance of chemical metering pumps throughout the department.Repair and maintenance of Lo-Cat system RO system: clean, troubleshoot, change pre-filters, schedule outside service.
