We areseeking a professional like you to support Legal in the protection of IntellectualProperty of the Company by providing variety technical data, and completingapplications, for Utility Patent and Plant Variety Protection and IntellectualProperty Rights.Formula forSuccess: You Will? Completeunderstanding of various crops requested in terms of; seasonal planting, growthstages, growing needs, phenotypic descriptions and relevant differences withina species. Design, plan andcoordinate the PVP-UP trials scheduled for a specific area and/or crops ofexpertise in close cooperation with the Breeder, Product specialist and PatentAttorney/PVP manager. Includesidentification of check varieties, acquisition of seed, coordination of plots as requested by legal andProduct Specialists. Set up, executeand monitor the PVP-UP trials for a specific area and/or crops requested in close cooperation with Breeder, Productspecialist and Patent Attorney / PVP manager. Includes understanding and monitoring of growth stages. Collect, analyze,interpret and document all relevant data as described on the various crop USDAPVP/UP application from PVP-UP trials and submit complete application to legal,making sure the data obtained is in line with the requirements for PVP-UP. InformBreeder/Product specialist and Patent Attorney / PVP manager about the resultsof screenings, trials (and competitor varieties). Set up, executeand monitor trials to generate evidence to proof that a competitor varietyfalls under the claimed scope of our UP or PVP rights in close cooperation withLegal, Patent Attorney / PVP manager, Breeder and Product specialist. Includesunderstanding and monitoring of growth stages, collect, analyze, interpret anddocument all relevant data. Organize andcoordinate meetings with all people (e.g. breeders, product specialists, legal)involved in order to facilitate and enable the decision making about trial andscreening varieties. Coordinate andcommunicate the screening/trial schedule to the Farm Manager, breeder, productor trial specialist and provide them with technical advice in order to meetagreed standards, time planning and budgets. Qualifications? Bachelor'sDegree in agriculture or equivalent experience? Experience intrial design and data analysis. ? Ability to reconcilecompeting demands to meet legal deadlines with crop growing restrictions.? Excellent writtenand verbal communication skills. ? High level ofbotanical nomenclature knowledge? Ability to writetechnical descriptions? PC literate.Knowledge of databases and statistics. ? Ability to taketechnical photographs? Ability toanalyze and apply statistics to support PVP/UP application? High knowledge oflocal trial requirements by crop for PVP-UP registration. ? Bilingualpreferred in English/Spanish.
