We currently have a Truck Driver – Spreader position available at our Turf Partners facility in Charlotte, NC.
This role services Charlotte, NC, but candidate location can be flexible.
SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to operate a spreader vehicle and perform customer fertilizer applications on Customer properties. May need to operate vehicles to transport and deliver fertilizer, chemicals, and other hazardous materials to internal and external customers. RESPONSIBILITIESPerform customer fertilizer applications on Customer properties using a state of the art Chandler or other Spreader Truck.Maintain Application Logs and Inventory for every application and account. Perform Monthly Calibration pan testing and maintain records of said calibrations to ensure spreads are accurate and calibrated as an ongoing part of quality control.Provide printed As Applied/GPS Maps and Fertilizer application records and specifics for Simplot and customers records.Must carry out business relationships in a professional manner and represent Simplot and its brand professionally in their conduct and uniform.Communicate with customers on the job to be performed as it relates to coordinating the spreads at their specific property. Perform work at warehouse during time periods of slow spreading on the calendar.Other duties to be assigned based on business need and to be determined by Turf Operations Supervisor (may included, but not limited to Inventory, organization, cleaning, Fed Ex Shipping, delivery of orders, etc.).Be cross trained to perform local and long distance deliveries to assist Turf Operations Supervisor during times of busy and peak delivery time frames.Must be able to spend the night away from the home at times during spread season and also if on a long delivery run.REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Must possess a current, CDL/DOT certified (Class A) valid driver's license.DMV Hazardous Endorsement is required.Forklift Certification is greatly preferred.Must have working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to the required license and certifications.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, road signs, maps, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to do basic math.Must be able to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions/directions.Must have demonstrated ability to manage up to 12 ton loads on tandem axle 20 ft. bed with piggy-backed forklift or 17 ton loads on 32 ft. trailer with piggy-backed forklift.Must be willing to follow all applicable safety procedures.Work days may include nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on need and delivery schedule.Thorough knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations.No drug or alcohol convictions within the last 60 months and no moving violations within a 3 year period.No preventable incidents within the previous 5-year period.HOW TO APPLYExternal Candidates:Visit www.simplot.com/careersSelect Job SearchSelect Current OpportunitiesSelect All Open PositionsApply to Job ID#6508Please prepare a cover letter outlining your interest and qualifications and submit with your resume via our online application process described above.
