CHS has an exciting opportunity at our Oil Refinery facility in Laurel, Montana. We are looking for a Turnaround Manager to provide key support to the business on turnaround management.
You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; be driven to provide creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement. Must be a self-starter with strong business acumen and be customer focused.You will:Provide strategic input to turnaround event long-range planning, and develop and implement processes and procedures for continuous improvement in refinery turnaround performance.Organize and plan work-scope, scheduling, contracting strategy, sourcing craft labor, and budget.Collaborate with Operations and Optimization disciplines to develop shutdown and startup schedules.Assemble and lead cross-refinery turnaround pre-planning and execution teams.Provide effective turnaround work processes, training, and metrics.Provide and maintain long-term and short-term turnaround improvement processes and strategies.Leverage the skills of refinery staff and contractors to ensure an efficient and effective turnaround team.Ensure effective, accurate budget and cost controls are implemented for turnaround planning/execution.Develop and implement Safe Execution Plans and demonstrate strong understanding and commitment to safety and the environment.Ensure and follow all company, state, and federal safety policies, procedures, and regulations; identifying and communicating workplace hazards and correcting or seeking assistance to correct unsafe actions or conditions.Work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet business demands, especially during turnaround execution phase.Wear personal protective equipment, including respirators.Perform other duties as needed or assigned.Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (additional experience may offset degree requirement)5 plus years of experience in refining or related industry in field maintenance, project engineering/management and/or turnaround planning, scheduling and executionAbility to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet business demandsPreferred Qualifications: (desired)3 plus years of supervisory experience with direct reportsBasic knowledge in applying the Primavera scheduling toolKnowledge of practices relating to contracting and contractor management
