Kershaw, SCThis is a full time hourly level position.Position Summary:The ?Utility Operator? job classification oversees the unloading of grain and other receivables and the loading of finished products.
The job classification of ?Utility Operator? requires the ability to safely and efficiently perform the following: GENERAL DUTIESUnderstands that accidents are preventable and that safety is everyone?s responsibility.Adheres to all safety and process requirements.Active participation in safety programs and safety duties as required.Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by complying with all department and plant safety policies regarding the use of hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment.Informs supervisor immediately of any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts. Additionally reports any accidents, injuries and near misses immediately to a supervisor.Assists in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures on various valves and machine equipment such as motors, fans, and pumps. Maintains awareness and adheres to all GMP, FDA, Orthodox Union and employer standards and guidelines for food safety.Maintains awareness and adheres to all EPA and employer standards and guidelines regarding environmental protection.Maintains awareness and adheres to all OSHA and employer standards and guidelines.Works in teams by maintaining good communication and cooperation with other department operators and management in order to achieve efficient production processes in all areas. Work outside for long periods of time in all weather conditionsSPECIFIC DUTIES Unload grain from trucks and/or railcars.Load oil, meal, and hulls into appropriate trailers and/or railcars.Operate the grain dryer.Operate a skid steer loader.Operate rubber tired rail mover.Operate locomotive engine.Transfer grain amongst storage bins or from storage to production.Perform general housekeeping.Assist with general, light-duty maintenance.SKILLS REQUIRED Good attendance historyExcellent safety record and awarenessAbility to work on multiple tasksAbility to train othersAbility to work rotating shift job Good organizational skillsWillingness to assume and learn new responsibilitiesExcellent communication skillsProven housekeeping and sanitation skills Demonstrated troubleshooting skillsApply for this job.
