Veterinary Technical Services Senior Technical Consultant
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, VTS Sr Technician Consultant, are to:
The incumbent will assign the highest priority to the responsible management of telephone calls originating from the livestock phone queue. This includes providing support to staff RVTs through case collaboration and assistance with managing escalated calls. The individual will emphasize service and promote positive customer relations in every customer contact. The incumbent will treat callers professionally, use proper telephone etiquette and answer calls in a timely manner. This individual will demonstrate appropriate oral and written communication skills, as well as utilize proper grammar;
The incumbent will interact daily with Farm Animal Product colleagues, veterinary customers and livestock producers to respond to requests for technician information; assisting veterinary customers in determining standard/reasonable diagnostic and/or treatment suggestions for proper case investigations;
The incumbent will collect, investigate, and record Adverse Events and Product Quality Complaints to fulfill Bayer regulatory requirements and Standard Operating Procedures. The incumbent will be directly involved in handling escalated customer concerns and negotiating resolution to case financial settlements. This will include consulting with or assuming ownership of cases started by Product Support Center Registered Veterinarian Technicians;
The incumbent will maintain and leverage a high level of technical and clinical expertise related to Bayer Farm Animal Product lines with an awareness of the demands and needs of both veterinary and non-veterinary livestock producers;
The incumbent will maintain foundational level understanding of the livestock marketplace, including veterinary practices, veterinary schools, livestock industry trends, current technical developments and research issues affecting livestock veterinarians and producers;
The incumbent will attend and participate in livestock focused national meetings as required to maintain licensure, provide technical support, attend lectures related to Bayer Animal Health products, and give lectures when requested;
The incumbent will lead by example through consistently demonstrating high performance with regard to quantitative and qualitative performance measures;
The incumbent will demonstrate advanced problem solving skills, include evaluation and interpretation of data collected and providing medically relevant suggestions or recommendations regarding the case as appropriate per departmental guidelines;
The incumbent will provide direct management and supervisory responsibilities for the department RVTs designated to support the Farm Animal Product business. In this role the incumbent will provide coaching and mentoring as well as having responsibility for developing annual Performance Management Program objectives and completing Development Dialog responsibilities for themselves and their direct reports. Responsibilities further include; develop/conduct/facilitate/delegate ongoing technical training for department staff and Farm Animal Product colleagues.

The incumbent will possess a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree with a minimum of 8 years of private practice experience OR 5 years of practice experience and 3 years of Animal Health Technical Services experience;
The individual will have demonstrated foundational level understand of the following: competitor products, livestock industry trends, technical developments, veterinary practices, and transfer of technical knowledge to internal and external customers;
The incumbent must be current and knowledgeable in all aspects of veterinary medicine;
The incumbent must have computer and keyboard experience in MS Word, Excel, Power Point (minimum), and an aptitude to enter ADEs into the validated Pharmacovigilance database (PV Works);

The incumbent must be able to complete daily tasks with little to no supervision. This individual is a team player who is a self-starter with a positive and helpful attitude;
Communication: The incumbent must possess excellent communication skills, both on the phone and during in-person interactions and demonstrate organizational and necessary people skills;
Travel Requirements: 10-15% of time and as required.
Experience in a Large Animal or Mixed Animal veterinary practice will be given preference.
