Vice President of Grain / Senior Merchandiser
Located in beautiful west-central Wisconsin, CHS is providing Selection Services to assist in hiring for a local Vice President of Grain at a member cooperative. This position will report into the cooperative’s CEO and will be responsible for merchandising grain for the cooperative. Position Overview:The Vice President of Grain will manage the Grain Division as well as oversee and coordinate the purchase, storage, handling, and marketing of all grain transactions for the trade area. This position will optimize the market share and improve savings, increase the cooperative’s efficiency while elevating customer service. Responsibilities: Maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.Supervision – establishing and communicating division goals and results to employees, staffing the division and delegating the workload, actively supporting employee growth.Regulations – Uphold all cooperative policies and ensure that division facilities and equipment meet all federal, state, and OSHA regulations.Grain management – assuring proper grain storage and condition, operating the grain dryer efficiently, blending grain for proper loading, assuring quality specification grain is used, practicing good housekeeping, and monitoring rodent infestation.Grain handling – coordinating purchases, receiving, sampling, grading, and shipping; and maintaining grain quality and quantity.Marketing – involves developing and implementing an annual marketing plan and directing division marketing activities.Profitability and sales – establishing and achieving division profitability and sales goals, and increasing the division’s market share through regular sales efforts.Maintenance – maintaining property, facilities, and equipment and ensuring that these in good repair and condition. The Vice President of Grain will perform other duties as assigned by management and will enforce and uphold the cooperative’s credit policy.
