VP, HR & Strategy Officer

Are you a proven HR Leader looking for an opportunity to drive and engage talent management, organizational strategy and champion impactful HR initiatives that will prepare GROWMARK for the next generation of leaders?   GROWMARK is looking for the right individual to be a part of their Executive Management Team to position the company for future success through alignment of people & strategy execution.  If you thrive in a culture that puts family first, focuses on the customer & gives you the opportunity to work for a noble purpose, this could be your chance to finally make your mark. GROWMARK is a regional cooperative with annual sales of $7.0 billion (FY 2016 data) providing agronomy, energy, facility planning, and logistics products and services, as well as grain marketing and risk management services in more than 40 states and Ontario, Canada.  GROWMARK is ranked fourth on the NCB Co-op 100 listing of the nation s 100 highest revenue-earning cooperative businesses.  GROWMARK owns the FS trademark, which is used by affiliated member cooperatives.   PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), assumes overall responsibility for development and direction of the strategic planning process within GROWMARK along with providing management direction to human resource functions and corporate services operations within GROWMARK.  Serves as a member of the CEO staff. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP Supervises, leads, and develops the Executive Director, Corporate & Government Relations; Director, Corporate Services; Director, Talent Management; Director, Human Resources Administration; Director, Compliance & Employee Relations; and the Executive Assistant, Human Resources & Finance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Engages in corporate decision making as a member of CEO staff.  Coordinates activities for the board of directors and CEO staff on behalf of the CEO.  Attends and participates in GROWMARK Board and committee meetings, as assigned. Establishes, implements, and supports corporate-wide strategic planning methodologies to be used in developing overall business direction.  Provides leadership to CEO staff and board of directors planning initiatives in collaboration with the CEO. Provides strategic direction, leadership, and oversight to the talent management and HR administration functions in alignment with GROWMARK business objectives. Provides general oversight and direction to the human resources support services GROWMARK offers member cooperatives. Provides direction to the development and implementation of compliance policies, programs, and training.  Oversees investigations and resolution of compliance issues.  Provides leadership and oversight to the development and implementation of corporate relations services and communications initiatives.  Acts as the designated company spokesperson. Provides direction and oversight to corporate services functions, including flight operations, travel center, fleet vehicles, and facility management. Serves as the corporate representative on boards of directors, professional committees, community affairs activities, and advisory boards as directed.  REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a bachelor s degree in a business, human resources, or communications-related area or equivalent and 12 or more years' experience and training in management activities and the ability to provide strategic planning and corporate services leadership to the GROWMARK System.  A master s degree is desirable. Understanding and experience with management-related areas including management strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making; organizational analysis and structure, managing change, motivation, policies and procedures, and compliance along with strategic planning, budgeting, and communications. Displays and believes in ongoing development of the following GROWMARK System Leadership Traits:  execution, knowledge/strategic, character, interpersonal, innovation/change, building talent, and leadership motivation. Proven supervisory and leadership skills including staffing, orientation, coaching, performance evaluations, training, and development and the ability to achieve results through others. Proven professional management communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and presentation skills. Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.  Must have and maintain a valid driver s license and satisfactory driving record. Must have the ability to obtain a passport and travel independently and overnight as necessary.   GROWMARK, Inc. strives to provide a Total Rewards package that delivers exceptional pay for exceptional performance, recognizes your dedication to our mission and helps us attract and retain the highest caliber of talent.
