Warehouse Supervisor (Food Group-Grand Forks, ND)

We currently have a Warehouse Supervisor position available at our Food Group location in Grand Forks, ND.
Summary Position supervises and coordinates all daily functions related to receiving, storing and shipping products at the frozen Distribution Warehouse/s. Products can be received direct from production and/or rail or truck. Supervise all distribution activities for temperature controlled warehouse/s operating 7 days a week 24 hours. The distribution functions include understanding of inventory control processes, WMS (Warehouse Management System), cycle counting, storing products, distribution equipment functionality, safety, OSHA requirements and training warehousing staff.
Ensure accurate inventory control by monitoring and using various best practice inventory techniques to ensure custody of product received from Idaho production and other facilities are properly taken care of. This includes monitoring and training warehouse operators in what is an acceptable case condition, utilizing best practice receipting, storage and shipping techniques that allows for proper rotation and acceptable product to the customer.
Is responsible for supporting, managing, or implementing Food Safety and Product Quality standards as well as USDA/FDA regulations and policies in moving temperature controlled product through the supply chain utilizing best practices.
In a professional manner, ensure confidentiality regarding sensitive issues are being followed and the company dress code is being adhered to by all employees. Achieve and maintain industry leadership in distribution, while work to improve productivity, accuracy, reduce costs, safety, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Performs related duties such as transmitting and tracking information via computer concerning inventory, shipping/receiving, time keeping, productivity and storage availability. Ensures the interface with support personnel or groups are conducted in a participative style is conducive with operational goals of the company.
Ensures appropriate receipt and recordkeeping of inventory. Coordinates delivery of product in a manner which maximizes use of resources and meets delivery requirements. Perform root cause analysis concerning operational issues and be able to minimize the effect on warehouse operations.
Provides supervision and training for company and contract staff. Provides orientation for new drivers, ensures safety procedures are communicated and followed, and provides training as needed for specific equipment. Is responsible for mentoring warehousing staff and handle progressive discipline as necessary.
Direct the warehouse operations to monitor inventory, shipping, receiving, cost control, food safety, sanitation, quality and safety performance to meet company goals. Identify warehousing bottlenecks and work to resolve issues by using industry proven processes such as six sigma and lean in order to focus on problem resolution in order to improve the supply chain.
Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent)
Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
