Hours: Monday-Thursday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, Friday 6:30 am – 12:00 pm, times may vary to accommodate loading and delivery of pigs. Also responsible for weekends and holidays on rotation Reponsibilities: -Daily Animal Care and Feeding-Monitoring the barn environment for proper temperature and ventilation rates-Assist in the movement of animals, preparation for sales, and loading/unloading-Administer medicine and vaccines-Perform maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment along with regular housekeeping duties-Delivery of animals to Research Customers and Inter farm movements-Be responsible for accurate production data/Record keeping-Foster cross functional relationships with peers to ensure compliance and achieve optimal operational efficiencies to support all company objectives including: -Environmental Compliance -Site care/grounds maintenance -Asset Management -Safety -Animal well being, compliance, & Humane handling -Biosecurity Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Post secondary education is a plus-One year farm and/or livestock experience is a plus-Must have a valid Drivers License-Must have good computer skills with knowledge of Excel/Word-Self Motivated team player with a positive attitude-A passion to acquire an exciting career in the swine industry-Understand and be responsible for normal animal production capability and take action to prevent performance loss-Understand how each phase of production contributes/supports the WF phase and cost drivers within the WF phase of production and assist peers in managing controllable costs-Become fully competent in MRS Standard Operating Procedures (Both production and non-production) -Must maintain PQA Plus and TQA certification-Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed-lift a minimum of 50 lbs-Ability to handle exposure to dust, noise, odors, and temperature extremes Benefits:-Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance-401(k) + Company Contribution-Paid Holidays-Annual Pork allotmentNOTE: This Job description is not intended to be all inclusive.
