In addition to preventative and corrective work in the field, this position also functions as an expert supporting the team of BASF and contract instrument technicians. The role is a Monday through Friday day position.Provide direct assistance in the troubleshooting of instrumentation, automated valves, and analyzers to maintain equipment & system reliability and high production output.Provide direct support in the preventative maintenance, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control valves.Install, troubleshoot and maintain process analyzers, including GC?s.Assist in the training and development of personnel on troubleshooting, repair, installation, and setup of equipment and systems.Demonstrate and maintain a high level of technical expertiseResearch proper materials, parts, equipment, and supplies.Create purchase requisitions and reservations for necessary materials, equipment, or services Coordinate deliveries, shipments, and vendor appointments necessary to support the group.Identify jobs that require Management of Change (MOC). Complete MOC documentation for small scope changes. Assist with the installation and commissioning of capital projectsAssist the Maintenance Planner in planning jobs with instrument scope.Build task lists (job plan library) for recurring PMs in SAP.Adhere to the MPI process, including activities in SAP. RequiredHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum 10 years of experience in a chemical plant environmentMinimum 10 years of experience in ISO certified manufacturing plantExperience managing instrument calibration records. Familiar with ISO requirementsExperience in the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instrumentation, control valves, process analyzers.Extensive knowledge of the instruments, analyzers, automatic block valves, and control valves used in the synthesis of Quinacridone and DPP pigments.Demonstrated ability to safely manage instrument tech work stream during turnarounds.Computer skills – ability to learn and use SAP, MS Office, and OSI PI process data collection software. Ability to work with the maintenance supervisor in directing contract instrument techs.Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to apply trouble shooting skills in a complex manufacturing environment.Well-developed and practical knowledge occupational and process safety requirements (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, PPE, etc.)Willing and able to work overtime and extended hours during plant upsets and planned maintenance outages / grade changes.Ability to read, interpret, and update documents such as schematics, specifications, control diagrams, P&ID's, and single line diagrams to complete assigned work. Good oral and written communication skills.Able to operate mobile equipment, including scissor lifts and fork trucks. Able to work from heights, including from extension ladders. Able to pass a 2 hour, hands on skills assessment demonstrating basic knowledge of HART instruments, temperature measurement, automatic control valve operation, and automatic block valve installation and setup.Bonus PointsAssociates Degree or higher in process instrumentation?
