Culture at Nutrien is the core of everything we do and all employees are respectful of diverse opinions and views.The Yields Statistician/ engineering Statistician reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of production and consumption figures for the four ammonia plants and urea plant, verifying and tracking infrmation obtained from these plants and preparing additional reports and presentations and participating in special projects, as required.Key Tasks:Understand the elements of creating a safe work environment for all employees/contractors by being knowledgeable of and compliant with all applicable safety, health and environment (SHE) requirements, leading by example, and promoting a positive SHE attitude/culture to all.Monitors plant production and energy daily. Prepares daily production, energy reports and yield analysis.Uses statistics and knowledge of plant processes to coordinate with Chemical Engineers and Operations to identify areas of opportunity for the optimization of plant production, energy and reliability.Prepares required monthly and weekly reports, including: yields, Lost Tons Pareto Charts; production and gas usage reports; Reliability; and EnergyAnalyzes plant information for identification and correction for repetitive causes of lost tons and also tracks the status of action items arising from the analysisVerifies and reconciles natural gas and utility (water and electricity) invoicesHighlights inconsistencies in metered utility consumption and resolve the same via coordination with relevant partiesAssists in, the catalyst loading and collation of data during plant shutdowns. Prepares inspection and loading reports as requiredManages the recovery of spent catalysts in an environmentally-safe mannerAssists in compilation of annual production and energy budgetsTrack expenditure and utilization on the site chemicals and water treatment programsSkills:Competence in Microsoft office Suite.Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Must have mathematical aptitude and the ability to analyze figures and produce reports.A basic understanding of the ammonia and urea process.Detail orientedEssential Qualifications:BSc.
